Our Training department was setup to demystify the unrealistic fear about computer operations and create an educational culture that places very high premium on computer skills acquisition and utilisation. We place predominant attention on training, believing that effective and meaningful use of computers in businesses and homes can only be achieved if people acquire the necessary skills to use the computer system as a basic tool.

PROGRAMME OPTIONS

We offer computer training programmes that lead to trainees becoming competent computer users (CCUs) and computer professionals (CPs). At different times, prospective trainees have approached us on suitable programmes and courses for them. When this happens, we usually make use of an inquiries form to analyse their computer training needs and advice them on the most appropriate programme to register for.

We broadly categorise the application and usage of computers into two, namely; Competent Computer User level and IT Professional level.

COMPETENT COMPUTER USER (CCU) LEVEL

A competent computer user (CCU) has the basic skills to operate computer systems and execute the common tasks, such as word processing, spreadsheet analysis, simple graphics and designs, Internet & e-mail access, etc. In addition such a user is equipped with the skills of self-paced training in simple applications/programmes of choice.

IT PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

A computer professional is that person that has moved to the level of making a comfortable living by applying his/her computer skills. We broadly classify computer professionals as either network engineers or software engineers/developers. The network engineers posses the skills to repair and network computer systems. The networking here are of different flavours, ranging from peer-to-peer LANs to Client/Server LANs and WANs. On the other hand, the software engineers/developers posses the skills of using software development tools to develop application software from scratch (local development). In addition, software engineers/developers posses the skills to customise popular and robust off-the-the-shelf application packages, and integrate them to locally developed ones.

we have the programmes and the courses that can lead a trainee to become a computer professional in his/her chosen line of study.
